Practice Kit #2: The Airfoil

Today, a former RV-8 builder, Chris Pratt, I found on VAF came by the house to help get me started on this second practice kit. I must say, the difference between the toolbox practice kit and the airfoil practice kit is DAY and NIGHT! The toolbox practice kit comes out of the box looking like a toolbox… just assemble and your done. Few hours tops. But the airfoil kit is MUCH more complex. It involves fabricating parts, jigs, etc. It requires you to READ the plans as well as instructions. Took me 2 days total, and I’m still not technically done; I need to roll the leading edge of which I’ll get Chris to help me with to make sure I don’t screw anything up. I really had alot of fun figuring this kit out. I made some mistakes, but I also learned how to correct them for next time!
